After moving to Reynold’s Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia, I decided to pursue my life long dream of painting. As an Interior Designer for over 20 years, I needed a new outlet for my creativity! Plus, I’m turning 50 this year. So, it was time to act on that dream and not just dream it! I actually have been painting for quite some time. Just dabbling in it though, pieces for friends here and there, never to actually sell. So, 50 gave me a reason to “Just Do It”. As it turns out, it’s been a great outlet for that piece of creativity that was tucked away inside of me. WhenI’m not on the tennis court, golf course, lake skiing, kitchen cooking or sewing room sewing, I’m in the art room painting. I have actually been very humbled by the response from my art. I have been awarded a large scale commission for an Atlanta law firm, was just named GAA Artist of the Month and one of my most treasured pieces “Missing Bear” has just been accepted as a display at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame! “Missing Bear” which is an abstract painting of the hounds tooth hat that Paul “Bear” Bryant wore has also been made into Limited Edition lithograph and giclee. My medium is a textured molding paste and acrylics. I apply the paste with a pallet knife and work with that paste until I achieve my goal. I am always amazed though how subliminal my paintings can be. Many times the original vision comes around after the painting has gone through many transformations. As an Interior Designer and an Artist, I am constantly watching the design trends. I like to follow the trends with my art while keeping the look timeless. As I tell my clients, unless you are just “filling an empty space on your wall”, you should consider your art purchases a lifetime investment. Something you deeply love, something that speaks to you and brings out a passion within you. It is my hope that my art will evoke an emotion inside of the ones who enjoy my work. Kendall Boggs
